Monel 400 Washers offers in the temperature range where creep-strength as a rule is the dimensioning factor and where high temperature corrosion occurs. Monel K500 Washers have the same basic iron and carbon composition, but steel also contains a healthy dose of chromium that gives its famous corrosion resistance. Monel Flat 400 Washers has lower carbon content to increase weldability, where it is slightly weaker. Nitrogen in Monel K500 Sealing Washers is added to obtain a much higher yield and tensile strength.

Monel 400 Split Washers is the most widely used alloy of the austenitic group, which has a nominal composition of chromium and nickel. However, these Monel K500 Slot Washers have superior resistance compared to lower-chromium-nickel grades. Monel K500 Flat Washers has slightly different alloy composition, and therefore slightly different physical characteristics.
